## Choose a material

### Spherical oxide fillers

Choose alumina or silica, then the particle distribution and surface treatment needed by the resin and mixing process.

#### Spherical alumina powder

Al2O3

#### Spherical silica powder

spherical silica (SiO2) thermally conductive filler powder

SiO2

### Boron nitride fillers

Separate agglomerated and platelet BN requirements. Describe the mixing and forming process when comparing particle shape and surface treatment.

#### Agglomerated boron nitride powder

agglomerated boron nitride powder (BN) thermal-interface filler

BN

#### Platelet boron nitride powder

Platelet boron nitride (BN) thermal-interface filler powder

### Treated and coated fillers

Identify the core and treatment or coating. Compare compatibility in the intended resin; a powder result does not establish the performance of the final composite.

#### Surface-treated aluminum nitride powder

Surface-treated aluminum nitride (AlN) thermal-interface filler powder

[Selection guide](<https://powdchem.com/products/ceramic-powders/thermal-composite-fillers/#group-3>) [Ask about this material](<https://powdchem.com/request-a-quote/?material=Surface-treated+aluminum+nitride+powder+%28AlN+core+%2B+surface+treatment%29>)

AlN core + surface treatment

#### Alumina-coated filler powder

alumina-coated composite filler powder (core and coating grade-specific)

## Material selection guide

Start with the material identity and process, then check the details on the proposed datasheet.

**Material & surface**

Compare BN, AlN and other filler systems by chemistry, morphology and treatment. A coating or surface treatment needs its own description.

**Packing & rheology**

Specify the particle-size blend, shape and target loading. Flow, dispersion and final-part properties must be considered together.

**Evaluation basis**

Distinguish powder properties from composite properties. Request the test method, matrix, loading and specimen conditions behind performance data.

## Before you choose

**Does powder thermal conductivity predict a finished composite?**

It does not establish the final formulation result. Interface quality, packing, dispersion, loading and processing all need to be considered in a representative sample.

**What does this directory cover?**

Raw nitrides remain in the nitride directory; this page focuses on filler morphology, treatment and formulation requirements.

## What to include in your request

A material name or reference datasheet is enough to start. Add any requirements you already know.

- Filler chemistry and surface treatment
- Particle distribution, shape and size blend
- Host matrix, loading and mixing/curing route
- Composite test method and target conditions

### Quantity, samples and documents

Nike has no fixed minimum order. Tell us the quantity you need; we’ll check supplier pack sizes and any minimums.

We’ll check the proposed grade, sample options, delivery timing and available batch documents. Include any essential COA, TDS or SDS requirements.
