## Choose a material

### Nickel alloys 625 and 718

Keep the alloy designation and composition limits explicit. Compare the particle window and production route for the intended AM, sintering or research process.

#### Nickel alloy 625 powder

nickel alloy 625 powder (Ni-Cr-Mo-Nb; grade-specific)

Ni-Cr-Mo-Nb alloy / 625

#### Nickel alloy 718 powder

nickel alloy 718 powder (Ni-Cr-Fe-Nb-Mo; grade-specific)

[Selection guide](<https://powdchem.com/products/metal-alloy-powders/nickel-cobalt-alloys/#group-1>) [Ask about this material](<https://powdchem.com/request-a-quote/?material=Nickel+alloy+718+powder+%28Ni-Cr-Fe-Nb-Mo+alloy+%2F+718%29>)

### Other nickel and coating alloy systems

Ni-Cr, Ni-Al, Ni-Cr-B-Si and MCrAlY require distinct compositions. In MCrAlY, identify whether M is Ni, Co or Ni-Co.

#### Nickel-chromium alloy powder

nickel-chromium (Ni-Cr) alloy powder

#### MCrAlY alloy powder

MCrAlY overlay / thermal-barrier bond-coat alloy powder (M is grade-specific)

[Selection guide](<https://powdchem.com/products/metal-alloy-powders/nickel-cobalt-alloys/#group-2>) [Ask about this material](<https://powdchem.com/request-a-quote/?material=MCrAlY+alloy+powder+%28M-Cr-Al-Y%3B+M+%3D+Ni%2C+Co+or+Ni-Co%29>)

M-Cr-Al-Y; M = Ni, Co or Ni-Co

### NiTi and Co-Cr-Mo

Use the actual Ni/Ti ratio or Co-Cr-Mo grade. Keep the intended forming route and any application qualification separate from the alloy family name.

#### Nickel-titanium alloy powder

nickel-titanium (NiTi) alloy powder; exact composition/grade is specification-dependent

[Selection guide](<https://powdchem.com/products/metal-alloy-powders/nickel-cobalt-alloys/#group-3>) [Ask about this material](<https://powdchem.com/request-a-quote/?material=Nickel-titanium+alloy+powder+%28Ni-Ti+system%29>)

## Material selection guide

Start with the material identity and process, then check the details on the proposed datasheet.

**Alloy identity**

Specify 625, 718, Co-Cr-Mo, NiTi, MCrAlY or the intended chemistry with composition limits. These systems have different selection tasks.

**Feedstock profile**

Describe particle size, manufacturing route, morphology, oxygen and flow/density requirements. Identify pre-alloyed versus blended supply.

**Application & evidence**

Connect the grade to the intended AM, coating, brazing or sintering process. Ask for grade/lot data appropriate to that qualification.

## Before you choose

**Is an alloy powder listing evidence of a finished coating's performance?**

No. Feedstock, substrate preparation, equipment and process settings all affect the resulting part or coating. Keep powder acceptance separate from process qualification.

**What does this directory cover?**

Pure nickel and cobalt are elemental-metal entries. Thermal-spray cermets and coating services have separate requirements.

## What to include in your request

A material name or reference datasheet is enough to start. Add any requirements you already know.

- Grade and elemental acceptance limits
- Powder route and pre-alloyed/blend status
- Particle window, morphology and flow
- Intended process and grade/lot documents

### Quantity, samples and documents

Nike has no fixed minimum order. Tell us the quantity you need; we’ll check supplier pack sizes and any minimums.

We’ll check the proposed grade, sample options, delivery timing and available batch documents. Include any essential COA, TDS or SDS requirements.
