Advanced ceramic powders

Oxide Powders

Common ceramic oxide powders, organized by chemical identity and the phase, particle and processing requirements that distinguish a useful grade.

Choose a material

Alumina, silica, zirconia and related oxides

Start with the oxide chemistry and required crystal phase. Compare particle size and surface area using the preparation conditions relevant to your process.

Copper, iron, nickel and cobalt oxides

Oxidation state is part of the material identity. For example, CuO and Cu2O, or Fe2O3 and Fe3O4, should remain separate purchase specifications.

Other oxide powders

Keep the full formula and phase requirement. Narrow candidates with the intended ceramic, formulation or research process and its impurity limits.

Material selection guide

Start with the material identity and process, then check the details on the proposed datasheet.

Oxide & crystal phase

Begin with the chemical formula and required phase. Nominally identical oxides may be supplied in different phases or treatments.

Particle requirements

Define primary particle size versus agglomerate distribution, BET and the measurement conditions relevant to your process.

Acceptance criteria

Specify critical impurities, moisture and the evidence needed before sample or supply evaluation.

Before you choose

Is a higher nominal purity always a better ceramic feedstock?

Purity is one selection dimension. Phase, agglomeration, surface area and processing behavior may be equally important. Compare the parameters needed for the intended forming or formulation route.

What does this directory cover?

Dedicated high-purity, rare-earth, stabilized-zirconia and mixed-oxide systems are kept in their own directories.

What to include in your request

A material name or reference datasheet is enough to start. Add any requirements you already know.

  • Oxide formula and required crystal phase
  • Particle distribution, BET and morphology
  • Purity basis and critical impurity limits
  • Forming/dispersion route and batch documents

Quantity, samples and documents

Nike has no fixed minimum order. Tell us the quantity you need; we’ll check supplier pack sizes and any minimums.

We’ll check the proposed grade, sample options, delivery timing and available batch documents. Include any essential COA, TDS or SDS requirements.
