Powder materials

Rare-Earth Compound Powders

Fluoride, oxyfluoride, hydroxide and Ce-Zr mixed-oxide powders for coating, ceramic and research requirements. Compare the chemical form and particle requirements.

Powder material specimens; appearance reference

Which rare-earth form do you need?

The element name alone does not identify the material. Choose the chemical form first.

Browse by chemical form

Choose the compound formula, then the powder or prepared-feedstock requirements.

Rare-earth fluorides

Select the exact fluoride formula and required supplied form. Dry powders, granules and optical-deposition pieces are different purchasing items; include particle size, moisture and the relevant impurity limits.

Yttrium fluoride powder

Powder versus granule, purity basis, oxygen/moisture and process.

YF3

Ytterbium fluoride powder

Powder form, impurity basis and optical/formulation requirement.

YbF3

Lanthanum fluoride powder

Dry powder form, moisture and relevant optical/chemical limits.

LaF3

Neodymium fluoride powder

Powder form, composition and material-specific documents.

NdF3

Yttrium oxyfluoride

For YOF, include the phase and oxygen/fluorine ratio. If the request is for spray feedstock, also specify the particle architecture and equipment requirements.

Yttrium oxyfluoride powder

Phase, O/F ratio, morphology and spray-feedstock architecture.

YOF; phase and O/F ratio need confirmation

Hydroxide precursors

Keep La(OH)3 and Nd(OH)3 distinct from their oxides. Compare moisture and particle profile, with any calcination step described in the process brief.

Lanthanum hydroxide powder

Hydroxide identity, carbonate/moisture, particle profile and calcination need.

La(OH)3

Neodymium hydroxide powder

Hydroxide identity, moisture, particle profile and precursor use.

Nd(OH)3

Cerium-zirconium mixed oxide

Specify the Ce/Zr ratio and target phase. For catalyst-support evaluation, include the surface-area or pore data and the conditions used to measure them.

Cerium zirconium mixed oxide powder

Ce/Zr ratio, phase, BET/porosity and catalyst-support evaluation.

Ce-Zr-O / Ce1-xZrxO2-based; ratio varies

Questions before sampling

Should I request an oxide, a fluoride or a hydroxide?

Use the chemical form required by your formulation or process. An element name such as yttrium is incomplete: Y2O3, YF3 and YOF are different materials. If you have a reference datasheet, send it with the inquiry.

Can raw powder be supplied as spray feedstock?

Describe the particle structure and size window required by the spray equipment. A raw chemical powder and a prepared spray feedstock need separate specifications; we will check the requested form.

Where are the rare-earth oxide powders?

The rare-earth oxide category contains the 16 oxide catalogue entries. This page covers the other compound directions listed above; use the related-material link below for oxides.

What to include in your request

A material name or reference datasheet is enough to start. Add any requirements you already know.

  • Exact compound, composition and crystal phase
  • Dry powder, granule or prepared feedstock requirement
  • Particle profile, moisture and impurity basis
  • Application, quantity, destination and documentation

Quantity, samples and documents

Nike has no fixed minimum order. Tell us the quantity you need; we’ll check supplier pack sizes and any minimums.

We’ll check the proposed grade, sample options, delivery timing and available batch documents. Include any essential COA, TDS or SDS requirements.
