Which CAS number should I use?
Use the CAS number in the selected grade’s documents. GNP products can use different CAS assignments. Include the product code, composition and powder form when comparing products.
What determines the price of graphene nanoplatelets powder?
Price depends on the grade and quantity, as well as packaging, testing and delivery. Send your requirements and destination so we can quote on a clear basis.
Is graphene powder the same as graphene nanoplatelets?
Graphene powder is a broad product name. GNP usually means small, flat particles made of stacked graphene layers. When comparing products, look at platelet width, thickness and surface treatment as well as the name.
How do I choose between GNP, GO and rGO?
Choose around the liquid or polymer you use and the result you need. GO has oxygen-containing groups that can help with water-based processing. Reducing GO produces rGO and changes its conductivity and dispersibility. GNP may need a dispersant. Try the selected grade in your own mixture before switching materials.
Does 1–5 nm mean fewer than five layers?
No. The measured thickness depends on the test method and sample preparation. An AFM reading can include effects from the supporting surface or material attached to the flake. If you need few-layer graphene powder, ask for the measured layer distribution and how it was determined.
Should I choose 1–5 nm or about 20 nm platelets?
Look at width as well as thickness. A is 1–5 nm thick and about 5 µm wide. D is about 20 nm thick and 0.2–1 µm wide. Because both dimensions differ, compare samples using the same recipe and mixing process.
Can Raman D/G ratio show whether my dispersion is good?
Raman D/G helps describe the carbon structure, including edges and defects. To assess dispersion, look for clumps, track how the mixture settles and see whether it mixes evenly again. Then test the property you need. TEM and AFM images show sampled flakes, so they should be used alongside checks of the whole mixture.
Can I use a published graphene thermal conductivity for my composite?
Use results measured on a similar material and in the same heat-flow direction. In a composite, the amount of GNP, its alignment and its contact with the surrounding material all affect heat transfer. Test the proposed grade in your own mixture.
How much GNP should I add?
Try several amounts in your own recipe. Record whether each percentage is by weight (wt%) or volume (vol%). Compare conductivity with viscosity, ease of processing and mechanical properties before choosing the amount.
What should I send a GNP powder supplier before I buy?
Send a product code or target size, what you will use it for, the quantity and destination. Include any required test limits or documents. If you are buying graphene nanoplatelets for a new process, start with a sample evaluation.
